Today Zappa played a very frustrating game against Djinn on ICC. Zappa had a practically won position out of the opening (the book said +2-0=1, and Zappa was evaluating +.5). Zappa was more or less increasing its spatial advantage when we came to this position: [D]1r1r4/ppbbkppQ/2p1pq1p/2PnN3/3P4/P6P/1P1B1PP1/1BR1R1K1 w - - 0 27 First, Zappa has huge branching problems here because of over extending and changing its mind a lot. But it seems unable to come up with a winning plan. 1. Rc4 Rh8 2. Qe4 Rbd8 3. Ng4 Qh4 4. Qf3 Kf8 5. Bg6 = (1.16) Depth: 9/17 00:00:05.66 1800kN 1. Rc4 Rh8 2. Qe4 Rbd8 3. Ng4 Qh4 4. Qf3 Kf8 5. However, when I went back and tried to play as white against Zappa, I couldn't win. I'm convinced this position is won for white. White has a massive spatial advantage, black is packed on the first rank and has a terrible bishop. But I can't seem to win it, and neither can Zappa. So, can you? :) anthony
