There are 2 interpretations for a poor king safety score: 1- King is more susceptable to an attack. 2- Ling is more susceptable to a draw by perpetual. Perhaps your engine lost, because it was too optimistic for Black and this caused it to dismiss Black's drawing opportunities? In any case, my guess is that Ruffian's evaluation may be quite reasonable. A tough position for chess programs!
