I also have an Athlon 2GHz (2400+) but I can't confirm your bench numbers.
Compiled with gcc 3.3.2, Crafty 19.7:

Total nodes: 100409445
Raw nodes per second: 904589
Total elapsed time: 111

How can you optimize a compile for an Athlon with an Intel compiler ?
That doesn't make sense.
