For me, under MSVC 6.0, 8.0 shows up correctly in the "options/select
compiler..." dialog, but it crashes when I compile it for profile-guided
optimizations.  A bit of detective work narrowed it down to the inline
assembly I use in the program.  Recompiling using 7.1 everything works fine.

I've also noticed under Linux, that 8.0 handles the inline assembly correctly,
but is about 10% slower than 7.1 :-(
