Is it my imgagination, or is Ruffian 1.0.0 outperforming Fritz 8 in 1 PC engine tournaments? I haven't run very many games yet. Some 5 minute games and 3 game 30's. So far Fritz 8 has not won a single game. Losing with .5 out of 2 games of 5 minute and .5 out of 3 in game 30. And now in a 4th game 30 Ruffian as Black scores the game at -(0.20) and Fritz Scores it as + (0.20) It appears that Fritz 8 evaluates it's position much higher than Ruffian does. In the last game 30 in which Fritz 8 got demolished as black, at one point it scored the position as approx. +- (0.70, whereas Ruffian scored it as +-(1.90. Quite a difference. Fritz 8 has done better against Ruffian 1.0.1 I know it is too soon to tell, as many games should be run. Also, to get a more accurate result, 2 identical PC should be used when you can then leave ponder on. I don't have 2 identical pc's.....One being an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ with 1 Gig DDR SDRAM which is what these tests have been run on............ and the other being a Pentium ll 350 MHz with 384 SDRAM. Has anyone had any similar results? Brian
