I purchased all of the above computers up through the K6-233 laptop when they were cutting edge technology, and cost $$$$. But for everyday use I am still happy with my (3 year old) 600MHz laptop and (1.5 year old) Duron 1100MHz desktop. I will replace the desktop for better gaming/chess performance long before I replace the daily laptop. I use my laptop 80% of the time. Five years ago I would have almost always used the faster machine when both of them where sitting right in front of me. Of course, maybe this is all because I am just getting older... -- Kevin Heider
