Does this sound familiar to you when using CB8? If yes - > did you get some sort of personal fix or is this bug gone with the latest > upgrade? > >/S That's my case - I was merging a mix of a large number of commented and uncommented games. The total number of variations was quite large. In my case the empty brackets replaced what had previously been large chunks of analysis, which was lost forever, typically at the beginning of the merged game. I'm not sure if this is general or personal. I received a personal fix via email, with a new upgrade version of CB8 dated December 17. It's in the same format as the usual upgrade, so I'm hoping it's generally available. I'd suggest you query upgrade and see if you get a version with the 12/17 date. If it's earlier than that you should probably contact CB directly. The kind gentleman who fixed my problem is Lutz Nebe. Paul
