Movei is the fastest program at calculating perft that doesn't use hash tables,
followed by Yace (to my knowledge). I would estimate perft 10 would take 40 days
at best on fast hardware using Movei, and another 46 days using Yace. The work
could be split between several computers easily (ex. computing perft 9 from the
position after 1. h3, etc., and adding the results together). Of course, I
believe perft 10 from the starting position has already been verified multiple
times, and perft 11 would probably take 31-33 times longer (over 3 years). It
would definitely have to be a distributed project.
