Hi Dann,

Can you present me any add where it is stated that something is THE BEST ? Or
THE STRONGEST ? Without any proof ?
At the moment e.g. Deep Fritz advertises with "The Best Fritz ever available"
which is for sure true - they give reasons for it like new features etc. But
they do not say that it is the best of the world. Also Shredder or Junior was
never announced being the best - they just give facts like Worldchampion of xxxx
or Nr. 1 at the SSDF etc.
I believe that the law in other country's is more or less the same then in
germany... That's why you usually don't have the superlative anywhere in
advertisings.

And I think it is a good law, it does make it more complicate for the company's
to disinform potential buyers - when they want to advertise something and say
that they are better then others then they must give some proveable facts.

But this is getting off topic - it would really interest me to read some court
decisions about "Alleinstellungswerbung" (sorry, I don't know the english term
for it) in other countrys then germany. So let's stop here and continue by
mail...

Greets, Thomas
