In my game of last weekend with my handle sonho on ICC I played the following game with the crafty engine: lgn - crafty / junior 5 [C55] ICC [Müller,M] 65536kB, Nivenbasetree.ctg=14691180 pos 1.e4 e5 2.Sf3 Sc6 3.Lc4 Sf6 4.d3 d6 5.Lb5 Lg4 6.c3 Le7 7.h3 Lh5 8.Sbd2 0-0 9.0-0 a6 10.La4 b5 11.Lb3 Sa5 12.Lc2 c5 13.Sb3 Sc6 14.Le3 a5 15.a3 a4 16.Sbd2 Dd7 17.g4 Lg6 18.d4 cxd4 19.cxd4 exd4 20.Sxd4 Se5 21.f4 Sexg4 22.hxg4 Sxg4 23.Df3 Lh5 24.Lf2 g6 25.Dh3 Da7 26.Sxb5 Da5 27.Sc3 Tac8 28.Ld4 d5 29.b4 axb3 30.Sxb3 Dc7 31.Sxd5 Dd7 32.Sb6 Dc6 33.Sxc8 Txc8 34.Tfc1 Dd6 35.e5 Dd5 36.Dg2 De6 37.a4 Lh4 38.a5 Da6 39.Ld3 Dxd3 40.Txc8+ Kg7 41.a6 Dxb3 42.a7 Se3 43.Tg8+ Kh6 44.a8D Sxg2 45.Df8# Line After 29. - axb3 Crafty did not deal correctly with the e.p. move of the opponent and wrote something like Xxh4 intending to take the opponents queen what was not possible at all. It also saw an advantage of approx. 9-10 pawns. It seems, that there is a bug in the interface as crafty (according to Prof. Robert Hyatt) does normally fine in such situations. Personally I never had a problem against a crafty engine in doing a e.p. By the way I switched to Junior 5 engine to finish the match. Crafty obviously already had prepared the win perfectly. Does anyone share similar experience with this program and engine? Kind regards Martin Mueller
