The Tascbase FIDE Chess Encyclopedia is not only cheaper but better. Informant
now is the laughingstock of the chess world because of the poor quality of their
3rd editions of the ECO 5 volume set. Not all of the 5 volumes have got to the
3rd edition so there is a considerable time lag between volumes not to mention
that some are now outdated.
