russ, Hi!
the deep version is 6pc endings tablebase capable out-of-the-box. This is a
legitimitely arguable improvement. such an improvement may not be realized on
all systems, however-- in many cases the distinction made in the ads is
jesuitical at best.
Another issue might be memory handling/adressing (of hash tables) on larger
systems for the deeper version, but I have no direct knowledge of this.
