No , the uci installation was originally an upgrade/enhancement to F7.  F6 will
not run uci.  F8 comes with it pre-installed.  Arena and Chess Partner run uci
engines among others.  Chess Informant Expert 4.1 can use UCI and Crafty engines
 in analysis.

For the money, there is no doubt that Arena is the best GUI.  It costs $0.  It
also one of the most versatile GUI, with many , many improvements over the past
year.  For example, it plays both FRC and Shuffle Chess, runs engine matches,
runs tournament, outputs tournament to html, has spoken move announcement, plays
with a DGT board, connects to the internet, prints games with diagrams.

Below is a game with Crafty SE "kazy kamkazi" perosnality -- it sacs for no
reason , ideal for beginner players.   For the experienced player, you can
decide how best to mate - here I was able to come up with a smothered mate at
the end - always a joy.
