I played 20 games with Deep Fritz 8 against Ruffian 1.01 and 20 against Chessmaster 5000. Time control was 15'/40 + 15'/40 + 15' and hashtable size was 48 MB for Deep Fritz 8 and Ruffian 1.01. All these in a PIV 1500 MHz. So pondering was off. Endgame tablebases (all 3-4 pieces and some 5) were available for Fritz and Ruffian. Deep Fritz 8 played in Deep Fritz 8 GUI with DFritz8.ctg. Ruffian 1.01 played in Arena 1.0 GUI with Ruffian.bok. Chessmaster 5000 in it's own GUI with CM5000.obk and with "About Chessmaster" trick. The results was as expected. In this position Deep Fritz 8 played 26.d5 and crushed Ruffian 1.01 a few moves later, with a super suprise (for an idiot like me in chess) move 28.h4! 26.d5!?
