In this study:

[D]8/5B2/4P3/8/8/4k1p1/6P1/3b3K w - - 0 1

There are stalemate and underpromotion themes.
First off, 1.Kg1? allows 1...Bb3 pinning the e-pawn.
Also, 1.e7? Kf2 2.e8=Q Bf3 3.Bd5 Bxg2+ 4.Bxg2 stalemate.
The right way is 1.Be8! Kf2 2.Bc6 Be2 3.e7 Bf1 4.e8=N! and White wins by
bringing his knight to e4.

My question is that both Ruffian and Crafty perfer 4.e8=B? both giving high
scores. Yace gets it right with the knight underpromotion. Obviously with
4.e8=B, 4...Bxg2+ is a draw. I don't have tablebases installed on this PC.
Anyone know what's going on? Why no contempt factor for bishops of the same
colour?

Jim
