Should the Nalimov Tablebases turn off when you select Turn Off ?? All that I find that happens is that the full list of forced moves in the 3,4, and 5 piece endings do not show in the window. The forced moves will still be played however. Is this normal? I had contacted Chessbase on this a few years ago. They told me then, that it only turns it off for the GUI but they still function internally. What is the point of that then? Makes no sense to me. If I want turn off the tablebases, I have to Rename the Tablebase Folder. I can do this while the Fritz program is in operation, however, if I wish to turn on the Tablebases again, I have to close out Fritz, including the Play Fritz....Playchess.com window (Completely close out of Fritz !!) and rename the Tablebase folder back to Tablebases. Even if I change the path in the Options>Tablebases to a Wrong Path....the default brings back the C:Program Files\ChessBase\Tablebases path. Has anyone found an easier way to turn off the Tablebases?
