its a great feeling wnen these old babies spring to life after all those years
of sleep
sort of like a "Rip van Winkle" effect


this is a fairly typical position for the earlier machines
they will try to cling onto the extra pawn for dear life
the bishop on E6 blocking its own K-P is a  typical "handling" of the Queens

while i havent tried this on the Boris or Compuchess i bet both will play either
A6 or QD7
both reasonable moves but only because you have the level set to the highest
possible
i think they can manage a two ply search at that level

i am thinking you got a reply in about 30 minutes

i think if either of those maxhines ran for 5-8 hours straight you would have
two dead computers on your hands
