This topic seems to relate to the earlier thread in which roles of engine versus
GUI [or UI] were discussed.  Intuitively, it would seem that this is not an
engine issue at all.  Instead, it is a question of whether or not the GUI [or
UI] is designed properly.  One may ask about Winboard, UCI, and other GUIs.  The
answers may be different in each case.
