I believe the CM9000 ratings were done at 5'+10" and are >probably only good at that time control. I am not claiming any "rating" as a result , but this will give a user a rough idea. I often get questions about the ratings for different personality - when a personality is close to my rating, I think my guess is more accurate -- when I play much stronger or weaker personalties , my guess is a "bigger" guess. I am going to do more testing on this and assign a rating to each personality relative to the CM personality. I'm also going to add more personalities that are based standard crafty evaluations , with just the searched depth tweaked. Those personalities will be identifed by the rating. I am going to do that , becasuse Crafty plays very reasonable moves, even at shallower depths due to its good evaluation fucntion. In fact, one of my favorite methods to play crafty is to use the standard Crafty with 100% full bore extensions , limited by search depth. Also , I noticed that the Josh 1600 personality is very tough - it pops up with a mate-in-8s or so that many 1600 will not see. It also makes very poor moves that most humans (rated 1600) will simply not play (unless they blunder - but Josh 1600 makes blunders every game and then plays much better - a very uneven level of play imo) - giving up the exchange for nothing. I have played 8 year olds rated 1600 and they do not play like CM Josh 1600. They have a much greater level of consistency than CM Josh 1600.
