If it is still the Pentium M in the Centrino, and we're talking about chess
programs here, it will beat up the Pentium 4 plain and simple.  Speedwise it's
similar to the Athlons, but we're talking expensive laptops for the Pentium M
and you can build an Athlon based machine for as little or as much as you want.
That part is your decision.
