Yo are correct about the 1%. I added an intensity command to Crafty 19.08 Se
2004. Valid parameters are 1 to 10,000. Why 10,000? I had to take it under
100 (<1%) to be able to beat it myself - I am about a 1600 player. I can beat
Crafty when I set the command around 50 or 0.5%. The intensity command take the
time to search and multiplies by i(v)/10000 - keeping the minimum to 1
obviously. But it then saves the move, and goes into a loop for the remaining
time (so it will not play instaneously - giving the users appearance that it
still thinking) It's pretty neat when you use it - you can set game for 60
minutes - set the intensity to 50 and it will use 3 minutes for the entire game
for thinking and the rest of time it will be in a loop as if it was thinking the
entire time. And you will get 60 mniutes for your side and you get to ponder
while crafty is in the loop. When you use this command, ponder is set to off
automatically,

Email me with the word include to get on the distribution list.
