Against other computers, Shredder is surely the top dog at the moment. Against
humans, or for analysis, others may be better (not sure).

There is a log jam at the top of the computer chess world, and you're really not
going to go wrong with any of the top programs. Fritz, Shredder, Junior, and
Tiger are probably in one group, with a few others like Rebel and The King
(Chessmaster) maybe half a hair's width behind. If you wanted the absolute
strongest program, probably Fritz or Shredder.
