In any product development -take a look at cars, computers, etc- some features that seemed good idea are prunned because were not so good after all or because were not sensible to market demands or whatever. Of course sometimes some very good ideas are doomed. I think OS-2 Warp was one of those, at least a better one than w98. Remember lenin: one step to the past, two to the future.
