Subject: Endgame tablebases - some questions

1. While playing a game in the Fritz GUI, how can one tell if the program is
accessing the egtb?

2. There are now 6-piece tablebases being generated. However, it is my
understanding that not all of the chess engines marketed by Chessbase can
utilize these table bases.

(a)If I have 3,4,5, and 6-piece tbs in my c:/tablebases folder, will an engine
that doesn't use 6-piece tbs be "screwed up" by "seeing" the 6-piece tbs in the
folder?

(b)How does accessing the egtbs help a chess engine in an engine vs engine match
at blitz time controls (i.e. 3' + 2" or 5' + 0" etc.)? If one engine can access
the tablebases, and the other cannot (but are equal in all other regards), in
what ways would the engine that could access the egtbs benefit? Time?
Accuracy?

Thanks.
