Subject: Phalanx XIX released

Author: Dusan Dobes

I have released Phalanx, version XIX. Phalanx is a xboard/winboard
and RoboFICS compatible chess playing program. It's distributed
under GPL, in sources and in pre-compiled Win32 binaries.

sources:
ftp://ftp.math.muni.cz/pub/math/people/Dobes/phalanx-19.tar.gz
ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/games/strategy/phalanx-19.tar.gz (and mirrors)

Win32 binaries:
ftp://ftp.math.muni.cz/pub/math/people/Dobes/winphx19.zip

Changes from previous version include:

Log file. Outside passed pawn evaluation in pawn endgames. Minor
changes in middlegame evaluation. FICS whispering. Better pbook.
Bugfix in the evaluation of 'king in the square of pawn' (had bad sign!).
New extension trick: we add big extension after two succesive non-pawn
captures that result in pawn endgames. Phalanx uses more time if there
were turns in last ply level. Fixed bug in communication with xboard
that sometimes caused playing too fast in '-mg' mode.
