I cant imagine that Shredder 8 is that much better than Shredder 7 to justify another $50, so, I'll give it a pass. It took me a while (I know I'm slow) to finally realize that new versions of a chess engine are automatic when sales of the previous version start to tail off and, if they were all that much stronger than the previous version, their real rating would be around 4500 ELO by now.
