Of course the UCI engine can run in Fritz, but what's the point if there's also a native Chessbase engine? And I don't think that Chessbase would be asking their customers to buy a rival product to run the UCI Shredder engine. Chessbase's motives in supplying the engine must be along the lines of my post.
