Subject: What makes a good opening book?

Author: Jasmine Baer

I like to play with Fritz 8, Hiarcs 9, Chess Tiger 15, and Junior 8 on
playchess.com. I plan on buying both Shredder 7 and 8 within a month (if I can
get 7 cheaper!).

What can I do to make opening books that land these engines in favorable middle
games? Should I just go with the books that came with the engines and let the
engines keep learning from the games they play online? Should I put together a
book from a collection of high-quality GM games?

I'm open to suggestions. All 4 programs are very different, so I would imagine
that different books would be apporpriate. Again, any suggestions would be
helpful.

Thanks.
