Dear Timothy, (Assuming that we can be on a first name basis since we're probably neighbors and us Dutch think that you Germans are always being so formal about it.) I quit playing at a 'regular' chess club (you now with humans) some 10 years ago and have been mainly playing computers since. I also like to see how smart they are and don't mind (anymore) that they beat me time and again and happily follow their 'hints'. BUT, recently I decided that I will start playing at a regular chess club again for the following reasons: 1. I feel that my chess is becoming superficial because I am not going to think for more than 1 minute about moves against my computer (can always take it back, can't you ?!). 2. I miss the EXCITEMENT playing humans. I mean, that's a real struggle, a psychological battle that you don't want to loose. And do you know when you really LEARN something and IMPROVE your chess (at least in my opinion), when you analyze your game afterwards with a strong chess program. Best regards, Arjen.
