Playing well is not an objective criterion, but well :-).

The Baron is already available in an FRC version capable of playing both
classical chess and Fischer Random Chess. The next release will also be able to
play the variant '3 checks wins' and 'nocastle'.

On ICC there are various variants that can be played with most chess programs as
only the starting position differs.

Now and then the Baron is present on ICC with the 'fun' version that plays those
variants.
