Well, positional evaluations are proven correct by calculation.

So that that after calculation proves a move correct, the positional
principals are then postulated. Even these principals take a back
seat to tactical considerations.

So the question arises in openings and middlegames do positional
principals belong in opening theory rather than general principals?

In endgames positional principals are proven by calculation.

Computers are weak in so-called positional knowlege but are very
good at calculation, and contain very deep opening books and endgame
tables.

Couldn't it be said that positional evaluation is calculation plus
home preparation? And for one to defeat a computer one has to
defeat its opening book by home preparation? And this results in the
assumption that positional knowlege was the determining factor for
the victory?
