No. People will tell you - as always when that question arises - that you can convert an .OBK book using some tool and/or the Fritz opening book conversion. This doesn't work either, also not for CM8000 books, but produces garbage! Forget that. There are several alternatives. If you don't mind when King would have a slight time disadvantage (sometimes) in games, than maybe you want to use my 5moves.ctg for it. It's 10 plies deep and very carefully created (but does not include expert book tuning though using opening theory etc.). For example, it has learned from 30.000 (!) computer games. The King engine is capable of playing the early opening itself very good IMO... may even bring the opponent into trouble with it's often mentioned gambit ideas. http://members.aon.at/computerschach/5moves.zip Of course it would be "somewhat risky", facing a large high quality book with that short book. In general, I recommend it only for "book-neutral" matches where the engines use identical books. So also Kurt & Rolf's tournament where that book is used by all engines. King 3.23 SKR performes very good there: http://www.utzingerkurt.com/5moves.htm Regards, M.Scheidl
