An engine will set some unrevealed hash size (or better, value defined in cfg) when initializing. When UCI game starts, the engine _has_to_ to give up its predefined hash size, and switch to the value recommended by UCI GUI. Well-behaved Ruffian _does_not_ switch back to cfg value !!! Use a tool that displays memory usage at runtime and your eyes shall open wide. Note that you may have to peep into memory usage of several non-first-round games to see the fraud.
