Go up one level in this thread

Hi,

I just want to inform you that my program is called 'Nightmare' and not
'GoldBar'. The author of 'GoldBar', Bart Goldhoorn, is a friend of me.

There is or was a German program called 'Nightmare' too I think.
But I suppose my program is the oldest and the strongest 'Nightmare', the first
version was created in 1977, the current playing strenght is somewhere in the
region of 100 ELO points below the toplevel commercials.

About four years ago I modified the program entirely to make use of bitboard
move generation and bitboard evaluation. It has multi processor support too,
although this is still in a somewhat premature state.

I still have plans to improve the engine, but somehow it seems to be very
difficult lately to find enough spare time for my hobby.

Best regards,

Joost Buijs
