I also ran this position on my AMD Athlon XP 2600+ and found some interesting
comparisons. Using Fritz Versions 8.0.0.8 and 8.0.0.23 and Crafty 19.08.
Fritz 8008 took 2.5 minutes to find 1.Rxe7... and over 3 min. to evaluate as
1.03 in favor of white. Whereas, Fritz 8.0.0.23 took only 8 seconds to find
1.Rxe7... and 00:01:30 to rate the position as +-(1.47). Also, Crafty 19.08 took
00:00:18 to find 1.Rxe7... and 00:01:06 to evaluate it as (0.89) in favor of
White.
I ran this experiment over number of times. Also, closing out the Fritz8 program
each time, to be sure that there were no evaluations remaining in the
memory.....As, the first time I ran this when Switching 80023 and 8008 involving
renaming the engine folders, 8008 found 1.Rxe7...much faster. So, when shutting
down the program each time, the engines gave the following evaluations:
