Thats sad... what a loss. I'm glad I have Shredder 6, so if someday when I beat
it and feel like getting a stronger version, then I can still play Shredder 8,
9, 10... in my favorite Shredder Interface. I do like the Fritz interface also,
just not as much.

I don't understand why they would drop the Shredder interface and just go with
the CB one. It seems like it would be easy enough to just include both. I have
to say that I really like having both and can remember that was a deciding
factor when I had to choose between Shredder and the other big engines. Its my
favorite/best interface for playing all Winboard/UCI engines, and of course to
play Shredder.

I personally think that it would be cool to have all the older versions of a
line of chess engines available when you buy a new version. It would be cool to
have retro engines, if anything for variety. Something like Fritz
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 all together with a 5 man tb would be cool. Same with Shredder.
I see no reason why it can not be done, CD-roms are cheap, light, unbulky, and
have little shipping expense.
