When testing the Chessbase version vs the Classic version of Shredder 7.04 I come up with a very strange contradiction. The Shredder Classic version consistently shows about a 6%-7% advantage in speed when testing positions. This also translates to slightly faster solving times with equal hash tables of course. The contradiction comes when I look at my Blitz database standings. The Chessbase version is #1 in my database with a rating of 2493 after 1824 games. The Shredder Classic version is #7 with a 2455 rating after 709 games. In fact the original Shredder 7 Chessbase is #4 (ahead of 7.04 Classic) with a rating of 2469 after 1180 games. Has anyone else noticed a "weaker" Classic version? Could this apply only to blitz games? Jim
