Yes.  There is also another reason why computer games are often very long:
It happens that one of the engines thinks it has a clear advantage in the
endgame, but doesn't search deeply enough to find a win.  It will move the
pieces around randomly, carefully avoiding 3-fold repetition.  When 49
moves have been played, it pushes a pawn somewhere in order to avoid the
50-move draw rule.  Then the process repeats itself.

I've seen many comp-comp games which are longer than 200 moves.
