Hi David, My understanding of S7 is that when it calulates a simplified position it then looks it up in the EGTB and stores the result in an EGTB hash table. This should explain to you why you will find hard drive EGTB hits in 6-piece positions with Shredder_7 although this previous Shredder version is NOT 6-pc nalimov enabled ( because it does not have the newest dll for tbaccess ). -Marc ps presumably by installing S-8 and the new tbaccess.eng you **might** retroactively 'improve' S-7 but I cannot know this- (it's a gui consideration) On January 14, 2004 at 16:08:24, David H.
