I have come to the conclusion that only the first move (the best candidate move) can be trusted. Perhaps it costs too much time & energy, reducing the engine's strenth, to pare the variations accurately. I don't know. The engine is still strong, despite this, but of course I wish the analysis was more accurate. It sounds like the same thing is continued into Shredder 8, but I won't know til I get my copy next week. WP
