Since it is not clear at all that White can even win the >f-pawn in the 1st place, a win seems highly doubtful to me. dvoretzki's endgame manual gives a position with black h3, Bg2 against white h2 + rook and says it's a win. in that position, the black king is already confined a bit in the h8-corner - but not dramatically. anyway, according to the winning plan given for pawns on h3 vs h4, white doesn't want to confine black's king in any way - just force him *very* far away towards the pawns and capture the black pawn with the rook. so... i don't know whether you are right about the theoretical draw. 6-man EGTBs would surely be helpful here :-) cheers martin
