I received Shredder 8 in the mail today Based upon results seen on this site I began a series of blitz matches against Hiarcs 9 Hiarcs used the narrower Hiarc.ctg book rather than the larger hiarcs 9 Shredder the shredder8.ctg book both were optomised for tournaments 90 meg hash, tablebases on p4 2.0 gig Game in 5 minutes Hiarcs spanked Shredder in the first 10 game series winning 5 drawing 3 and losing but 2 Shredder seemed at times to come out of the opening poorly This caused me to wonder about using the shredder7.ctg book instead Well Shredder shreddered Hiarcs winning 5 drawing 4 and lossing only 1 and even more impressive result than Hiarcs first scored Is it the book, luck of the draw or the limited number of games ? This should be food for thought and additional tests Tom
