You are totally right - we should find a process how to solve such things. > There are already more than a few suspicious programs running on ICC. I find that pretty unlikely in real life... well, I think that there might be some amateurs that are a bit stronger nowadays then crafty, like Ruffian (as long it was amateur) or maybe Aristarch... but usually you should get anyway some wins from time to time, at least with your hardware advantage. I know almost all programs on the participants list right now and have seen them playing games. The only exception so far was Adam Chess - but that seems to be solved, but not in a way I had hoped... I have another point -> how to make sure that each participants use some kind of own book ? I have especially those in mind that do not play with WinBoard which has no bookfunction as we all know... > If we aren't careful, human nature will wreck this event just like it tries > to wreck everything else. That has to be prevented, of course... But as it was pointed out several times it somewhat easier to cheat at an online tournament. The idea to give to .exe to a certain person is maybe the correct way - but I wonder if commercial entrants have problems with that ? Or those which plan to get commercial... Greets, Thomas
