I decided against the soyo dragon--even though the price is very nice.
I believe it is more important to have a socket 940 board, not a socket 748 one.
I will get more features off of the better board, put in a 300 dollar cpu while
waiting for diminished prices on the FX style chip... and a commercial version
of windows64XP.
Since this is going to be at least partly a chess box, I did not go double
socket because I wanted portability( and slots-- my current experience with
these new agp 3 cards is that we lose a pci slot just to fit the cooling system
for the video card), I am putting the new machine in an aluminum "super lan boy"
enclosure with a big power supply. So I nixed the MSI mobo as well. I chose a
well reviewed nvidia gf3 chipset ATX mobo for under 200 bucks.
