Subject: The strongest Engine

Author: Bigler

Dear all,

According to all my tests and analysis, here are form me the strongest engines
at long time control (i.e. over 1h per player for all game)

1) Shredder 7.04
2) Hiarcs 9
3) Deep Fritz 8
4) Deep Junior 8
5) Ruffian Leiden 2003
6) Fritz 8.0.0.8

I actually don’t have Shredder 8 but I order it. Will it be the new N°1 ? Its
not clear, it seems on this forum that there are many different results.

I do not understand the results of the SSDF, Hiarcs 9 is for me clearly stronger
than i.e. Fritz 8.

I also tested Ruffian 2 but was flabbergasted to see the poor results even at
long time control.
Indeed, Ruffian Leiden did much better.

Tiger 15 ?! Well, its coming to old to really be able to compete with these more
recent engines.
I would have liked to see a new version. Any news of a potential one ?

I know that without showing results and games, there will be some strong
reactions. I have been playing on the playchess server against other computers
and also on my own computer (XP 2600+) and also analyzing with them.

Please do not answer to this post by saying, which book did you use ?
I have been using many books.
Just look at your own games with Shredder 7.04 and the ones with Fritz 8, you
will see that you can not compare these 2 engines, Shredder is far ahead.

Best regards to your all.
