I haven't tried installing Shredder 8 UCI engine in the CB GUI. I don't have any particular reason to do so, because the native .eng/.dll engine format seems to work fine. However I'm trying the Shredder 6 Classic GUI, and the Shredder 8 UCI engine seems to work OK there. One disadvantage is that it won't access .cbh files so you must use .pgn or the old .cbf format. The .cbf format is too buggy (concatenates tourney names, etc.) but .pgn seems OK. Also the computer is slowed down considerably by the Shredder 6 Classic GUI compared to the CB GUI - multitasking is sluggish - but it's still workable. WP
