Maxdata (4200x) Pentium IV Mobile 2.67 with HT Notebook = 7.015 Maxdata (3100x) Pentium IV 2.67 without HT Notebook = ~ 6.300 Xeon 2.8 GHz with HT = 7.670 Athlon XP 2.5GHz = 8.721 >1.6 GHz Intel Centrino (Maxdata 8000 Notebook) = 7.100 > >Best >Frank Since the K6, MHz for MHz the AMD CPUs have been faster than the equally priced Intel chips. ie: K6-abc faster than P2-abc, Athlon xyz faster than P3-xyz The Centrino is really a modified Pentium III which clock for clock DESTROYS the patheticly over cycled and over hyped P4. It brings me great joy to see the old school Pentium III get to near 2GHz and spank his younger sibling P4 that is cycling 50+% faster! No offense, but I really think Intel sucks for most general purpose applications. The Centrino is the first good chip Intel has done in years. I'm still waiting for Intel to release a 5.5GHz chip (the ads will look great) that is slower than a quality 2GHz chip. -- Kevin Heider
