I'm going to be joining the ICC family very soon for computer related accounts, and I was going to be playing 20-60 minute games only against high rated humans, computer vs computer is definately not as fun, so to prepare Shredder 8's book, does this sound insane, or would it do well. I create a tournament inside the CB8 GUI. Three engines. 1. Shredder8 2. Shredder8UCI 3. Junior 8 Junior 8 uses its book, and both the shredder engines use their books. So of all the possible combinations, Shredder at 1 point will be playing, and learning, I set the time control to 20 +10 and let them play for a few days. When that tournament is over, i then replace Junior 8 with Hiarcs 9, Would this optimize its book beyond what you could on the chessbase server? Because S8 is the strongest engine, and i'll throw in another just for a style difference, J8 is very strong aswell. Ideas? I don't want to lose against a strong human on ICC.
