It has nothing to do with the speed test itself, the speed test is not optimized for a special type of processor. Maybe some misunderstanding with your english ? In Deutsch: Was dort geschrieben steht, sagt prinzipiell, daß Athlons einfach sehr viel besser geeignet sind für Code der in Schachprogrammen üblicherweise vorkommt. Der Test selbst ist nicht für einen bestimmten Typ CPU optimiert. Eine Ausnahme wird erwähnt, das ist auch die einzige, die mir bekannt ist: Fritz. Fritz scheint recht gut mit PIV zurecht zu kommen - das bedeutet dann aber, daß Fritz wohl für Intel-Plattformen optimiert ist. Und dennoch, wie mir Mathias Feist letztes Jahr in Paderborn gesagt hat (die hatten dort einen Dual Xeon 2.8 GHz) wäre Fritz auf einem Dual Athlon MP2800+ wohl nochmal einiges schneller gewesen... Fürs Schach sind Intel-Prozessoren nicht die erste Wahl. Auch die Xeons werden ja nun durch die Opterons übertroffen. Deutlich. Selbst wenn man den 64bit-Modus mal außen vor läßt. Gruß, Thomas
