Hi Derek
First, i find your idea fantastic. Let us be informed about your results and
best games against the strongest GM.
Second, i think that Junior 7 or Deep Junior 7 (on a dual PC) would be a better
opponent for Shredder 8. It's due to it's very aggressive style that's like many
strong GM that you will face on the ICC. Of course Hiarcs 9 is strong but Making
Shredder 7.04 play against Shredder 8 will be more interesting because Sh 704
will  give Shredder 8 much much more problems especially if you ket him benefit
about his learning function. You made many many games using Sh7.04 and i'm sure
that with his learning function and learning positions database he will be a
better opponent. You have also to use of course our setting developed together
!!!
Other opponents: Try also Gambit Tiger 2.0 and Fritz WM Edition engine.

I haven't yet made much experiments. I just got my copy of Shredder 8. I'll try
to find better settings for it. But it will be really very hard to do as it's
throwing all the other engines.
